Schlessman & Conway

Audrey and Jordan mostly communicated with us through email since they reside in Leawood, Kansas. We met with them once to get all the details worked out. We took inspiration from Audrey's dress and created a White on white themed Wedding Cake with Yellow fresh flowers as accents.

We elevated the cake using a beautiful satin fabric that matched the couples color scheme. The Wedding Reception kicked off at the Triple M Club House in Nevada, MO. Their cake was Classic Vanilla with a Strawberry filling on two tiers and Classic Vanilla with BC frosting on the other two. It was adorned with edible white MMF ribbon around the middle of each tier.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Schlessman!

Cannon & New Wedding

June is such a popular month for Weddings sometimes it is just easier to have the whole thing at your own home (or is it? We would have to ask them). That is exactly what Karessa and Ryan did! Well, Karessa's parents home that is. We made the trip to Galena, KS on June 20th to setup this fun and elegant Wedding Cake. The back of their yard was completely transformed into a Wedding oasis...the entire road pitched in to help. They had parking 3 houses down at the neighbors and others helped to shuttle guests with golf carts from the parking area to the reception area. We have to give props to you guys for pulling off such a magnificent event!

For the most part the Wedding Cake was designed by the Bride and we just helped in making a few adjustments and placing colors. The off-set square part of the cake really caught the viewers attention. It is definitely a one of a kind creation.

The groom's cake was a pyramid to signify the Groom's love for wrestling, the couples new last name and his two favorite sports teams: The Tennessee Titans and Notre Dame (on the side you can't see).

Thank you guys for such a bright, fun and elegant Wedding Cake to add to our portfolio!

Petroski & Garcia

This Wedding Reception took place at the Holiday Inn in Joplin, MO. The Bride and Groom knew exactly what they wanted when they contacted us and we were happy to do it for them. Sonya, the bride, wanted a simple and elegant cake with Blue Gumpaste Hydrangea flowers and silver edible ribbon. She also wanted a 3D Jeep for her soon to be hubby. The Wedding Cake turned out gorgeous. We believe it was inspired by a cake featured on the KNOT?

Sonya gave us a picture of the jeep for us to work from. The Groom's cake was a lot of fun to make!

We had to take several pictures of it because it was so cool.

After the wedding they told us that no one wanted to cut into it. Some even thought it was a toy jeep. Well, it was no toy! It was ALL Cake! Everything on the Jeep was edible, even the tires. Thank you guys for giving us the opportunity to show our 3D mad skills =). We might not be the "Cake Boss" but we do know how to boss a little cake around once in a while ;).

Rudisill & McCaughey Wedding

Jake and Brooke were married on June 6, 2009 at the Crestwood Country Club (www.countryclubatcrestwood.com) here in Pittsburg, KS. They came to SDC wanting something fun and funky but elegant. We took ideas from their wedding invitations and the topper monogram they had purchased. Their colors were silver, ivory and black which made for a beautiful combination on the cake and CupCake Tower.

We just love the way this photo turned out. It almost looks like it was taken in the 1950's. This was one of the first Square CupCake Towers we have done and it looked fantastic! Thank you Brooke & Jake for such a contemporary take on a Wedding Cake!

Mt. Carmel Medical Center 2009 Gala

Mount Carmel Foundation hosted their 25th Anniversary Gala in February 2009 this year at Pittsburg's Memorial Auditorium and we had the honor of creating the Gala Dessert! The menu for the evening included a Tiffany Salad, 25th Silver Anniversary Entree (six oz. filet and bordelaise sauce accompanied by Yukon Gold mashed potatoes with Gorgonzola Fire and Ice asparagus spears sauteed in lemon pepper and Phantom of the Opera shrimp scampi skewer), and last but not least our Celebration European Chocolate (Semi-Sweet dark chocolate dessert cups filled with layered chocolate, raspberry and Irish creme dusted with delicate silver flakes, attended by silver Jordan almonds). Here is what they looked like:

The Mt. Carmel Kitchen staff did an amazing job of plating the desserts and adding a beautiful swirl of raspberry to the plate for color.

We hand painted each trim of the Belgian Chocolate dessert cups, cut out the layered chocolate pieces, put it all together and crafted each of the white chocolate filigree pieces that topped off the dessert. The Irish Creme was freshly made the day of the event and piped on to each and every one, all 325 of them (or 335..i lost count)! Here is a picture of the delicate dessert displayed on the Anniversary silver decorated tables.

These elegant confections were specifically designed for the 25th Anniversary Gala and will most likely never be replicated, just like the memories made that evening.

These were a lot of work, but the end result makes it all worth while. We would like to say thank you to the foundation for letting us sweeten up their event and continuing to provide Pittsburg and the surrounding area with such a caring medical facility!

Dent & Reissig Wedding

Natalie and Jim united as one on Valentines day this year. They had their reception at the "Strange Implement Building" just outside of Eerie, KS. Although the name of the reception site is "strange" it is quit nice. A very spacious area with high ceilings, nice floors and plenty of room for dinner and fun.

We created a smaller Wedding Cake along with CupCakes and a Groom's Cake for the couple.

The flowers were inspired by a floral design we used at our very first bridal show at Memorial Auditorium. The Groom's Cake was a hunting themed cake with our Camo Chocolate Marshmallow Fondant. They made the tree trunk stand for the groom's cake.

We trimmed the Groom's cake in real shotgun shells so they could be used after wards. Congratulations to the Dent's! Thank you!

Hogan & Schmitz Wedding

Rose and Emily had their Commitment Ceremony in February at PSU's Heritage Room inside the Overman Student Center. It was a small ceremony with a beautiful cake.

We took inspiration from their invitations and their cake topper. The cake was covered in our Chocolate MMF. We also made cupcakes for extra servings. You can see this cake being created on our myspace page under pictures, then under Pictures by Kenna. Thank you ladies for such and awesome cake!
