Spriggs and Volmer Wedding

All the way back in December we created this very classy, elegant Wedding Cake for Cara Spriggs and Brock Volmer to celebrate their special day with friends and family.

The cake was as stunning as the rest of their magical day. Here are some photographs courtesy of SilverDoves Photography & Design (www.silverdoves.com).

Here is a photo of the cake that we took.

Thank you for making your first piece of cake an SDC creation! Best wishes to you both!

Clevenger & Sprague Wedding

Talk about one of a kind! This camo/hunting inspired Wedding Cake surely caught the attention of everyone at the reception. This three tier, round, stacked cake was covered in our MMF and then hand painted for the camo effect on each tier. It was placed on top of two hunks of tree trunk to add height and drama to the center piece.

To top off this cake, the Bride and Groom purchased a Wilton Cake Topper but made it their own by adding a shotgun, tree branches and a small Coleman lantern to it. They even bought a Four Wheeler for us to add to the side along with a deer and fence.

The Groom's Cake pictured above was created to signify the Bride and Groom's Red H2 Hummer.

Thank you for this fun cake. Everyone is STILL comenting about everytime they see it!

Ausemus & Hallacy Wedding Sweets

We were delighted to create these tasty sweets consisting of, Monogram Cookies, Leaf Cookies and our CakeBites for Jamie Ausemus and Ronnie Hallacy's Wedding Reception. The cookies were decorated to match the fall theme and beautiful colors at the reception inside Dalton's Event Facility.

This spread of delicious desserts was just one of the dessert tables.

A photo that we snagged from The Morning Sun engagement page of the happy couple.

And finally a picture of those tasty leaf cookies!

Thank you guys for letting us be a part of celebrating your special day!

Walters & Zurek Wedding

We were delighted when Emily contacted us and requested that we create her Wedding Cake. We knew it was going to be a challenge to make the cake taste amazing to stand up to the Groom's fine taste. We are a HUGE fan of the Groom's Cheese Cake that he makes for special occasions and didn't think we could top it!

Here is a picture of the happy couple on their Wedding Day inside The Little Room Art Gallery. What a wonderfully cozy location for a petite wedding.

And here is the cake that we delivered to their home for the reception.

This was a three tier, round, stacked Wedding Cake with Ivory MMF and piece of Chocolate MMF draped across each tier. The leaves and topper piece (created by Horback's Posey Parlor) added to the fall theme of the cake.

What an elegant and tasty cake. Thank you!

McKechnie Birthdays

These were such fun cakes we thought we would share with everyone. Kristy McKechnie (one of the women featured in the 2009 Women of Distinction Calendar) ordered cakes for her father and son on their Birthday's. She sent us such adorable pictures of everyone with the cakes, we just had to post them!

Thank you for the fun pictures and great cakes!

Kristen Koester Photography

We had the honor of being featured on one of our favorite Photographer's blog:

www.KristenKoesterPhotography.blogspot.com

Not only does Kristen take amazing photos of our cakes, but she also manages to capture the most memorable, intimate details of every single Wedding or special occasion that she photographs. You must check out her blog to see more pictures from previous Weddings and family photo shoots. Even though Kristen is not based in Kansas, she does visit quite often and would be more than happy to make the trip for your special occasion.

Typically we don't invite people in to take photos of us while we are working, but given that Kristen is not new to taking photos of Heather she was welcomed with open oven mits =). If you read her blog you will find that Kristen and Heather have known each other for a very long time...all the way back to under graduate school at Pittsburg State University. If you ask Kristen, she could probably pull out some very embarrassing pictures of Heather way back when (but lets not go there).

These are just a couple of the pictures Kristen took during her visit at the Cakery. If you would like to see more please visit her blog and look under January:

www.KristenKoesterPhotography.blogspot.com

We're sure she would be more than happy to talk with you about your upcoming event or family photos!

Kristen, thank you so much for visiting us and sharing your special talent and friendship!
